Rainwater

According to Al Jazeera, the Horn of Africa is suffering the worst draught in decades, resulting in a rise in food prices. As the weather in Djibouti reaches up to 40 °C in the summer months, rain would be much appreciated. However, in the six weeks I've been in the city, it's only rained once. Interestingly, when it rains in Djibouti, the soil does not absorb the water. Instead, the water forms puddles that last for weeks on end.
