Road Trip: Ali Sabieh

This weekend, our family headed to a city located in Southern Djibouti; Ali Sabieh.

Allahu Akbar (Praise Allah).

Unité. Égalité. Paix. (Unity. Equality. Peace). This is the national emblem of Djibouti. It is used on all of the national currency.

Lunch.

I have yet to visit a city where there is no Dahabshiil.

Women pumping water from a well on a mountain.

Construction workers chewing khat.

These men were returning from a burial ceremony. In Djibouti (as well as Hargeisa), it is the role of the men in the family to dig a burial for the deceased individual in a graveyard.
