Student Council

After a month of teaching at Maalim Dawud, I found out there's a student council! I can't explain my excitement and disbelief when I found out about this group of young students. The student council, led by a young man named Awaleh, consists of over twenty boys in the eight grade. Although they were not elected, they truly appear to represent the interests of their peers. They collected money from students (about 500 shillings each) to buy these new school signs, one of which was created by a very talented student named Awaleh, pictured below.

The student council presented the new school signs to the school at the morning assembly.
